It’s the question I hear almost every day.

At showings.
At listing appointments.
At dinner parties.
From neighbors in the elevator.

“So… how’s the downtown Chicago real estate market?”

And my answer usually starts the same way:

“That depends.”

Because downtown Chicago real estate isn’t one market, it’s dozens of micro-markets stacked on top of each other. A West Loop loft does not behave the same way as a Streeterville condo. A renovated two-bedroom with parking doesn’t move like an original one-bedroom with high assessments. Timing, pricing, condition, and strategy matter more now than they have in years.
